Kyle came the day after I called and checked for the problem. The main line had a leak. We agreed they would go forward the next morning.

The next day I was greeted early by a crew digging a trench to replace the line. The owner was there making sure things got off to a good start. By the afternoon the line was in and ready for inspection. The next day the line was inspected and the trench filled. The clean up was so good you could not tell the crew was even there.

They also updated my shower trim and provided valuable recommendations to save some money on them. Kyle took the time to answer all of my questions regarding adding a water softener and conditioning system and did an amazing install on them as well.   I called Hips Plumbing because I had a leak in my ceiling. They picked up right away, and were super polite and responsive.

After asking me... read more for photos of the leak, they sent me a booking link for a technician to come out. The appointment scheduling process was so easy and they were able to come the same day!

Cody & Tyler arrived on-time, and diagnosed the problem in about 20 minutes.

Overall, their visit took about an hour from arrival to repair. The pricing was reasonable for the work, and they were professional and efficient.

They were even nice enough to look at a couple of faucets I was having issues with while they were here.

Overall, would highly recommend! They don't charge anything to send a tech for estimates, and I'm happy to now have the peace of mind knowing the leak has been repaired!

Why not Five... read more Stars?

1- we had SEVERAL discussions on cutting the holes in the walls using squares/straight cuts. I was so focused in our conversation that eventually we were told "We'll cut it the way we always do, with straight edges and we'll do our best to keep the cuts clean, but sometimes we can't.

2- They promised they'd keep the house clean. Cutting drywall is always dusty and dirty, so we'd specifically asked that they ensure good masking. We have a lot of very delicate electronics (we work in aviation) that we put away what we could, but....
The masking job was abysmally bad and dust was found everywhere. Their cleanup was quite poor.

3- They cut into a plumbing stack, and repairing it left a significant bow in the wall where the sheetrock covers the 4" pipe.

4- It's really annoying when a company hounds you for a review. It took a while to write one, as we were unable to easily schedule drywall replacement. Hip thought it would be "easily less than a day to replace the drywall."
Turned out to take four days due to the additional work caused by the out of square, ragged holes and the lack of material to screw into.

The PEX they ran was cleanly installed, and passed the inspection. However, the inspector himself asked "did they bring in little kids to cut these holes? I've never seen such shoddy work." Again, the PEX part of the job was great. Water runs properly, no leaks, and was a good value based on the quotes we received from others.

Indeed, there were areas where they'd cut holes away from studs, and backing had to be installed when we replaced the sheetrock. We had to spend more on the replacement than originally expected, simply because of the very poor removal of drywall. Not a single cut was straight.

FWIW, the company who replaced the drywall, did an outstanding job of masking, putting up plastic, ensuring everything was well-cleaned before they left, and overall, they had a MUCH more difficult time by comparison to Hip, as they had to;
- Straighten every single cut Hip had made
- cut drywall to fit, as Hip had destroyed the vast majority of drywall they removed.
- build backing studs in several areas due to how Hip had cut the walls.
- remove many, many nails left in the hand-torn/broken drywall where Hip simply ripped the drywall off the ceiling and walls
- There were areas where the texture had been ripped off through poor cutting, requiring significantly larger replacement chunks where Hip had partially cut and then broke off/tore drywall, leaving large areas of grey underlayment.

All in all, the guys from Hip were "hip," and very fast workers. We just wish they'd been more respectful of our home and of our wallet. Had they been even a tad more focused on clean cuts and masking like the replacement people were, this would be a FOUR at minimum, and likely a FIVE. My GREATEST overall angst was when I was told "if you're expecting us to use a guide or square when cutting holes, you probably don't want us to do the job."

We should have taken that advice, given the cost of replacement was 3X what Hip had suggested, and the cost was ONLY higher due to the amount of "rebuild" the replacement company had to create. We did get four quotes on the replacement. SinCity Plaster was not the least expensive, but damn...they were seriously professional with their masking, cleaning, and work ethic.

And jose did an incredible job of that. Kyle and Eduardo came out and did a great job. They were kind enough to give my 6 year old Rottweiler a snack to let her know they were authorized in the house. They did a fantastic job. They were quick, thorough and neat with their work and clean up. It was nice to get these "Honey-do's" off my list without flooding or blowing up the house. Can't recommend them enough!
